FRAEC has worked on a number of important projects over its nineteen year history. The following highlights the programs we administered and provides a good overview of our experience:
- Russian Far East Governance and Civic Leadership Program: FRAEC implemented this activity in two regions of the Russian Far East, Primorsky Krai and Khabarovsk, to improve the capacity of local government and civic leaders.
- Nuclear Cities Initiative (NCI): Under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Nuclear Cities Initiative (NCI), part of the Global Initiatives for Proliferation Prevention (GIPP), FRAEC administered three nonproliferation projects
- US-RFE Partnerhip Acitivity: FRAEC implemented this six year program to support innovative, grassroots activities that enabled Russian partners to solidify long-term relationships with U.S. and Russian counterparts and promote networking and sharing of lessons learned throughout the region.
- CLEAR-PAC: Funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, FRAEC developed the CLEAR-PAC software system to integrate Russian Customs and the trade community for an expedited, efficient and transparent customs clearance process in Russia.
- Washington Sakhalin Law Enforcement Partnership (WSLEP): FRAEC implemented this training and exchange program sponsored by the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in the U.S. Department of State for eight years. Since 2000, the WSLEP partnership provided Russian and American police officers with hands-on training opportunities designed to address emerging public safety issues in the Russian Far East and in Washington State.
